Columbus Metropolitan Library – Hilliard Branch – Children's Programming

Parent/Family Resources

The Library seeks to inspire reading, share resources and connect people. They provide free books and other materials (both print and digital), Internet access and computers, literacy programs for youth, support for those applying for jobs or building skills around technology or learning English, and spaces for study and meetings.

Program offerings (parent must be present):

  • Storytimes: Learn how to use books, rhymes, and songs to help your child be ready for kindergarten.

    • Baby Laptime - Thursday: 9:30 & 10:30am

    • Toddler Storytime - Monday & Tuesday, 9:30 & 10:30 am

    • Preschool Storytime - Wednesday, 9:30 & 10:30 am

    • Family Storytime - Thursday 7pm, Saturday 10 & 11am

  • Ready for Kindergarten Class: Hands-on practice of kindergarten skills such as writing letters and cutting with scissors. Parents will receive tips on how to work on skills at home. This program is aimed at 3-5-year-olds and requests that their parent or caregiver be present. The program is offered Mondays/Tuesdays at 1pm & 2pm.

  • Reading Buddies: Helps children become better readers and writers. Children practice reading and writing activities with a buddy. This program is geared towards K-3 students. Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4 – 5pm, Saturdays from 3 - 4pm.
